Jeremy Frimpong hails Salah and Robertson as true Liverpool legends
Liverpool defender Jeremy Frimpong has described Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson as true club legends, admitting it was an honour to play alongside the iconic duo at Anfield.
The pair are expected to leave the Premier League giants at the end of the current campaign, with emotions growing among fans as the Reds prepare for the possible departure of duo.
The pair arrived at Liverpool in 2017 and quickly became key pillars in Jurgen Klopp’s revolution at Anfield. Together, they helped the club win the Premier League, UEFA Champions League, FA Cup, League Cup and several other major honours during a golden period for the Merseyside giants.
Speaking about the duo, Frimpong praised both players for their quality and leadership, insisting he feels privileged to have shared the dressing room with them.
“Yes, I am very happy that I was part of their time at Liverpool,” Frimpong said in comments reported by Rousing The Kop.
“Obviously they will leave next season. Robertson is a legend at Liverpool, as is Salah. It was an honour for me to play with them, and their personalities are truly great.”
Frimpong reserved special praise for Salah, describing the Egyptian superstar as one of the best footballers in the world.
“Playing alongside Mohamed Salah, one of the best footballers, was fantastic for me, as was playing with Robertson. I am grateful for that,” he added.
Salah has cemented himself as one of Liverpool’s greatest-ever players since joining from AS Roma, breaking numerous records and delivering unforgettable performances on both the domestic and European stage.
Robertson has also built a remarkable legacy at Anfield, becoming one of the best left-backs of his generation with his tireless energy, leadership and attacking brilliance.
Frimpong also acknowledged the enormous expectations that come with playing for Liverpool and potentially replacing stars of Salah and Robertson’s calibre.
“Liverpool’s standards are always high because of the greatness of the club and its fans,” he said.
“When times are tough, they expect more from you, but they will never abandon the club.”
