Jean Paul Akono, the coach of the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon, will not be accompanying the team for their upcoming matches. Akono, who was hospitalized and later declared recovered, has been omitted from the delegation that will travel for friendly matches in Ukraine, Lomé, and Congo, which are part of the World Cup qualifiers for Brazil 2014. The Ministry of Sports states that Akono’s health is a priority, and he is encouraged to take good care of himself. The team will be supervised by his colleagues and German coach Volker Finke during these matches. The Ministry of Sports is expected to clarify the roles within the technical staff after the matches.
