Jabir Abdihakim Ali: Ostersunds FK Re-Sign Swedish-Somali Striker from VPS on Free Transfer

Ostersunds FK have re-signed centre-forward Jabir Abdihakim Ali from Finnish side VPS (Vaasan Palloseura) on a free transfer, bringing the 27-year-old back to the Swedish Superettan club on 7 July 2026.

Ali returns to Ostersund only four months after leaving for VPS, where he had moved in March 2026 from the same club. The move restores a familiar attacking option for Ostersund, who again add a physically imposing striker at 2.02m in height to their forward line.

The Swedish-Somali attacker is valued at 150,000, according to his most recent assessment in June 2026 while at VPS. That figure follows a period of fluctuating market value in recent seasons, with a peak of 400,000 during his time at Vasteras SK and subsequent adjustments during spells at Lillestrm and Ostersund.

Ali initially joined Ostersunds FK in July 2025 after a brief period without a club, following his departure from Vasteras SK earlier that year. During the 202526 campaign his value stabilised at 225,000, reflecting his role as an established attacking option in Swedens second tier before the short stint in Finland.

Before first arriving in Ostersund, Ali built his reputation in Swedens lower and second tiers, progressing through clubs including Sandvikens IF and Vasteras SK, with a loan move to Norwegian side Lillestrm SK in 2024 adding top-flight Scandinavian experience to his profile.

Now in the prime years of his career and with experience in both the Swedish and Finnish professional systems, Ali resumes his career at Ostersunds FK as a Superettan centre-forward once again.
