Iya Mohammed, the president of the Cameroonian Football Federation (Fecafoot), has been sentenced to a 7-year suspension from the administration of any public company due to mismanagement at the Cameroonian Cotton Company (Sodecoton). This development may jeopardize his re-election as the head of Fecafoot, scheduled for May 25. Mohammed was found guilty of 20 management errors for the period from 2005 to 2010, owing the state the sum of 9 billion CFA francs (nearly 14 million euros). Additionally, he was fined a special fine of 2 million CFA francs (3,000 euros).
