The Ivory Coast vs. Senegal match for the 2014 World Cup play-offs has been declared “high risk” by FIFA, according to the Ivorian Football Federation. This designation is likely due to previous regrettable incidents that occurred during a match between the two teams in 2012.
To address concerns and ensure the safety of the event, the Ivorian Football Federation has announced plans to deploy 1,700 security agents, including police and gendarmerie personnel, for the match. Eight checkpoints, including two observation posts, will be established to create an outer ring around the stadium and another inside on the day of the match.
In addition to security measures, the Sports Medicine Commission (FIF), SAMU (emergency medical services), and the Military Firefighters Group (GSPM) are mobilized to provide medical assistance in case of emergencies during the match. These preparations aim to mitigate potential risks and ensure a secure environment for the World Cup play-off encounter between Ivory Coast and Senegal.
