Ivory Coast forward Evann Guessand targeted by Fenerbahçe in €25 million transfer bid

Fenerbahçe have launched a formal €25 million bid to sign Ivorian striker Evann Guessand from French club OGC Nice, intensifying the race for the 23-year-old’s signature amid strong interest from several European sides.

The Istanbul-based giants submitted their opening offer following internal assessments and are now awaiting a response from Nice, who have the player under contract until June 2028.

While Fenerbahçe’s proposal marks the first official move, it may not be enough to persuade Nice to part with a player they developed and who has become a key figure in their recent campaigns.

Guessand enjoyed an impressive 2024–25 season in Ligue 1, scoring 13 goals and registering 10 assists across all competitions.

His performances have significantly raised his profile, drawing attention from Premier League clubs including Brighton and Wolverhampton. Despite the growing demand, Fenerbahçe are the first to take concrete steps by entering direct negotiations.

Nice are expected to consider the bid carefully but may hold out for a higher fee. With his contract still running for another three years, the club is under no immediate pressure to sell and may seek to capitalise on rising interest to initiate a bidding war.

The striker is currently valued at around €25 million, and his strong season only strengthens the club’s hand in negotiations.

Guessand, who earns an estimated €900,000 annually at Nice, is known for his versatility, combining speed, physicality, and finishing ability. At 1.85m, he poses a constant aerial threat and has shown notable growth in his decision-making and movement off the ball. His recent form has been instrumental in Nice’s push for European qualification, making him a valuable asset in the current squad.

For Fenerbahçe, the bid signals serious intent to reinforce their attack with a proven performer ahead of the new season. The club is preparing for European competition and sees Guessand as a long-term investment capable of delivering immediate impact.

The Turkish side will now wait to see whether their opening offer opens the door to further talks or if a revised bid will be required to secure the forward.

With the transfer window heating up and Guessand attracting attention on multiple fronts, the coming days will be crucial in determining whether Fenerbahçe can complete the move—or if other suitors step in to challenge their position.
