Ivory Coast international Evann Guessand will not be available for OGC Nice when they take on SL Benfica in the UEFA Champions League qualifying game.

The French Ligue 1 outfit will play host to the Portuguese giants in a high-stake clash on Wednesday as both teams battle to secure a place in the group stage.

Ahead of the clash, the highly-rated attacker has been ruled following an injury setback as the team gear up for the clash. Guessand has suffered a knee injury, making him unavailable for the much-anticipated clash in mid-week.

However, with the Nice academy product expected to depart before the end of the transfer window, the club aims to battle for victory without the attacker.

The club accepted a €35m offer from Neom SC, who have since rescinded their bid, following the player’s refusal to make the move.

Crystal Palace have also submitted a bid, but it falls way short of Nice’s €30m valuation.
