Stella Club d’Adjamé has been struck by tragedy following the death of Soumanou Aboubacar Sidick, a promising 19-year-old player from the club’s U20 squad.
The young footballer lost his life in a road accident on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, leaving the Ivorian football community in shock and mourning.
Sidick, known for his technical ability and agility on the pitch, was regarded as a rising star.
His sudden passing is a devastating loss not only for Stella Club but also for Ivorian football as a whole.
Teammates Injured in the Accident
Two of Sidick’s teammates sustained injuries in the crash and are currently receiving medical care at the Abidjan Military Hospital (HMA).
The club, which is currently fourth in Ligue 1, has been deeply affected by the incident.
In an official statement, Stella Club expressed its condolences and support for the bereaved family and the injured players.
