Following the impressive debut of Guéla Doué with the Elephants, the Ivory Coast Football Federation (FIF) is now setting its sights on his younger brother, Désiré Doué, with plans underway to recruit him to the national team.
Guéla Doué’s noteworthy performance during the recent Ivorian national team gathering in late March, which included scoring his debut goal, has sparked interest from the FIF in bringing his younger sibling, Désiré (18), into the fold.
Both brothers currently ply their trade for Stade Rennais.
Idriss Diallo, president of the Ivorian Football Federation, expressed the organization’s determination to facilitate Désiré Doué’s potential inclusion in the national team during an interview with Nouvelle Chaîne Ivoirienne on Monday, April 1.
“We will do everything possible to encourage Désiré Doué to consider joining us,” stated Diallo, underscoring the federation’s commitment to attracting talented players like Désiré to bolster the Elephants’ squad.
While Désiré Doué is currently a promising prospect for the French national team, the FIF is eager to leverage his ties to Ivory Coast and his familial connection with Guéla Doué to secure his allegiance to the Ivorian squad.
At just 18 years old, Désiré Doué has already showcased considerable potential, mirroring the trajectory of his older brother Guéla, whose impressive performances have earned him a place in the Ivorian national team.
As the Ivory Coast Football Federation seeks to strengthen its squad with emerging talents, the potential addition of Désiré Doué represents an exciting prospect for the Elephants and underscores the nation’s commitment to nurturing young talent and building a formidable team for future competitions.
