Serge Dié has not held back in his criticism of Sabri Lamouchi, the coach of the Ivorian national team. Despite Lamouchi receiving support from Didier Drogba and other teammates amidst criticism from journalists and fans, Dié, who currently plays for Skoda Xanthi in Greece, has openly questioned Lamouchi’s abilities.
In an interview with Le Sport during his time in Greece, Dié expressed strong opinions about Lamouchi, suggesting that the coach hasn’t contributed positively to the Elephants’ style of play.
“I can tell you that Sabri Lamouchi has so far brought nothing more to the Elephants’ game,” Dié stated bluntly.
Drawing a comparison between Lamouchi and former coach François Zahoui, Dié argued that Zahoui had been more effective in improving the team’s performance.
“Honestly, I don’t know what touch he brought to the group. Since, we all notice that the Elephants play practically the same way. And then, between us, the team’s play was better with Zahoui than today,” Dié emphasized.
Having been absent from the Ivorian selection since 2005, Dié doesn’t foresee a return anytime soon, especially under Lamouchi’s leadership.
