It appears that there has been a transition in the leadership of the Ministry of Sports and Leisure, as well as Youth and Sports in Ivory Coast. Philippe Légré has handed over his position to Alain Lobognon, the new minister. The handover ceremony took place 24 hours after the formation of the new Ivorian government.
Philippe Légré expressed confidence in Lobognon, stating, “I am not worried because Alain Lobognon is an intelligent person who, I believe, will succeed in accomplishing the missions assigned to the Ministry of Sports.”
Alain Lobognon, recognizing the weight of his responsibilities, emphasized his commitment to making the development of Ivorian sports a priority. He mentioned that the Head of State has assigned him specific objectives that he intends to achieve. Lobognon used a sports metaphor, describing the development of Ivorian sport as a match that they are about to play together. He emphasized teamwork, stating, “We are teammates, even though I am the captain. The referee, the President of the Republic, has warned us that he will not hesitate to call fouls and, if necessary, distribute red cards.”
This information suggests a smooth transition in leadership within the Ministry of Sports and Leisure, with the outgoing minister expressing confidence in the capabilities of the new minister and the latter outlining his commitment to the development of sports in Ivory Coast.
