Ivorian international Simon Adingra is set to undergo a medical examination on Thursday, July 10, ahead of his proposed move to Sunderland.
As already reported by Africasoccer, the newly promoted English Premier League club has reached an agreement with Brighton & Hove Albion for the signing of Adingra.
The deal is reportedly worth £18 million upfront, with an additional £2.5 million in performance-related add-ons.
Adingra has also agreed to personal terms with the Black Cats, paving the way for the move to be finalised.
Sunderland previously attempted to land the winger during the January transfer window in a proposed swap deal involving Tommy Watson, but the move collapsed late on.
According to Transfer Insider Fabrizio Romano, “Simon Adingra will complete medical at Sunderland on Thursday after deal agreed today with Brighton.”
In a post on X, Romano added, “Adingra has been authorised to proceed with medical and contract signing at Sunderland.”
Once the transfer is completed, Adingra will become Sunderland’s fifth signing of the summer, pushing the club’s total transfer expenditure this window past the £100 million mark.
