Belgian forward of Ivorian descent, Johan Bakayoko, played a key role in PSV’s commanding 2-0 victory over Feyenoord in the KNVB Cup quarter-finals on Wednesday night.
Bakayoko opened the scoring in the 8th minute, reacting swiftly to a loose ball inside the box before slotting a precise shot into the bottom left corner.
PSV extended their lead in the 68th minute with a well-worked team goal, as Guus Til finished off a clever assist from Ismael Saibari to seal the win.
Despite the spirited efforts from Feyenoord, the team could not mount a comeback and had to succumb to the defeat.
With this victory, PSV have booked their place in the semi-finals of the Dutch domestic cup, keeping their silverware ambitions alive.
Johan Bakayoko will be a key man for the side in their quest to win the cup.
