Ivorian international, Maxwel Cornet will wear the No. 70 jersey at his new club, Genoa CFC.
The forward completed his anticipated transfer to the Italian Serie A club on Monday, January 20.
He joins Genoa on loan from English Premier League side West Ham United for the remainder of the 2024/25 football season.
“Maxwel Cornet is a new Genoa player. The striker born in Bregbo on 27/09/1996 arrives on loan from West Ham, with whom he won the UEFA Conference League in 2023. He has worn the shirts of Metz, Burnley, Southampton and Olympique Lyon, a team with which he boasts 252 appearances, 51 goals and 29 assists.
“With the Ivory Coast national team he has 31 games and 6 goals, with a long militancy in the French youth national teams and dozens of appearances in continental club competitions. Welcome to Genoa, Max,” the Italian club announced.
Having had limited playing time at Southampton where he spent the first half of the season on loan from West Ham, Maxwel Cornet will hope to play regularly at Genoa.
