Fatih Karagümrük ended their nine-match winless run with a much-needed 2-0 victory over TÜMOSAN Konyaspor in the 12th round of the Trendyol Süper Lig, played at the Atatürk Olympic Stadium.

The hosts took control of the game early and were rewarded in the 30th minute, when Serginho opened the scoring with a precise finish that gave Karagümrük a deserved lead.

Their momentum continued, and just before halftime, David Datro Fofana doubled the advantage with a well-taken goal in the 45th minute, effectively sealing the outcome before the break.

Despite Konyaspor’s attempts to respond in the second half, Karagümrük remained disciplined and compact, preserving their two-goal cushion until the final whistle.

The result not only lifted the team’s morale but also ended a difficult spell of nine games without a win, helping them move up to seven points in the league table.

Fofana’s growing influence

For David Datro Fofana, the Ivorian striker on loan, the match marked another statement performance in what has been a strong start to his season in Turkey.

The 22-year-old, known for his pace and direct attacking play, has now scored four goals in seven Süper Lig appearances this campaign, reaffirming his importance to Karagümrük’s attack.

His goal against Konyaspor reflected his instinctive movement and finishing ability — qualities that have quickly made him a key figure for the Istanbul-based club.

With his recent performances, Fofana continues to build confidence and consistency after previous spells across Europe.

Karagümrük back on track

The win comes as a timely boost for head coach Shota Arveladze, who had been under increasing pressure following a series of disappointing results.

His side showed renewed intensity, sharper pressing, and a more cohesive defensive structure, attributes that had been missing in recent weeks.

Konyaspor, on the other hand, struggled to break through Karagümrük’s organization and left Istanbul empty-handed, failing to capitalize on their chances in the second half.

For Karagümrük, this victory could mark a turning point in their campaign as they look to climb away from the lower end of the table and build momentum heading into the next round of fixtures.
