Hamed Junior Traoré is pushing for a fresh start away from AFC Bournemouth following a standout loan spell with French club AJ Auxerre.
The Ivorian international midfielder, who was left out of Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola’s plans last season, spent the 2024–25 campaign on loan in Ligue 1, where he enjoyed a resurgence in form.
Now back in England, Traoré is openly seeking a permanent move that reflects his ambitions and values the momentum he built in France.
Signed by the Cherries in January 2023, Traoré has yet to find consistency at the Premier League side and has since been loaned out three times. His latest stint at Auxerre proved to be his most successful.
The 25-year-old contributed 10 goals and 2 assists in 26 appearances across all competitions, becoming a key figure in the French side’s midfield and catching the attention of several clubs across Europe.
Traoré’s performances have not gone unnoticed, particularly in Italy where his reputation remains strong. Multiple Serie A sides are reportedly monitoring his situation, with Fiorentina showing renewed interest in the midfielder.
Additionally, West Ham United and Olympique de Marseille have expressed interest in securing his services ahead of the new season.
In an interview with Corriere dello Sport, Traoré spoke candidly about his future and his desire to settle into a club that believes in his abilities.
“I’ve just finished an important season, and I want to make the most of what I’ve learned and continue to progress,” he said. “What I want is a club that believes in me. And if I leave, I’d like it to be a one-off transfer.”
While a permanent move seems increasingly likely, Bournemouth have yet to make a final decision on his future. With his contract at the club running until June 2028, the Cherries could choose to retain the midfielder, especially in light of his recent form. However, their previous reluctance to include him in the first-team picture suggests a mutual parting of ways could be on the horizon.
Traoré, who was developed at Empoli and rose to prominence in Serie A before moving to the Premier League, is understood to be keen on returning to a league where he feels more trusted and impactful.
A move back to Italy, or to a club like Marseille where he would likely be a key player, could provide the consistent playing time and tactical fit he is looking for.
Financially, Traoré commands an annual salary of €1.81 million, a figure that may influence negotiations but remains within reach for most interested clubs at the top-flight level.
His market value has risen again after his strong season in France, and any permanent deal will likely reflect his rejuvenated stock.
With the summer transfer window now in full swing, Traoré’s future appears set to take a decisive turn. Whether it be in France, Italy, or back in the Premier League, the Ivorian midfielder is determined to find a club that offers stability, trust, and the chance to continue growing. For now, all options remain on the table — but Traoré’s message is clear: he is ready for a new chapter.
