Christian Kouamé is weighing a potential move to the Saudi Pro League as his time at ACF Fiorentina nears a possible conclusion ahead of the summer transfer window.
The Ivorian international, currently on loan at fellow Serie A club Empoli, is attracting significant interest from clubs in Saudi Arabia.
According to a representative from his management agency, MM-Management, discussions are already underway regarding the 27-year-old forward’s future.
“We have received numerous offers in recent weeks from the Saudi League, “The team’s management has stipulated that it will receive €4 million to sell Kouamé’s contract, while the player has set a total annual salary of €3 million to be able to play in the Saudi Roshen League.”
Although Kouamé remains under contract with Fiorentina until 2027, the club appears open to letting him depart permanently this summer.
His current loan spell at Empoli has seen him feature regularly throughout the season, with 36 appearances, two goals, and six assists to his name.
However, despite his consistent game time, the forward’s market value has seen a decline—dropping from €22 million to €6 million according to figures from Transfermarkt.
Kouamé’s career in Italy has been one of resilience and reinvention.
Since joining Fiorentina in 2020, he has experienced a series of loans and fluctuating form, but remains a player with experience in both domestic and international competitions.
His current campaign at Empoli, although modest in terms of goals, has seen him contribute creatively, particularly in a side battling relegation.
Fiorentina’s willingness to part with the striker for a relatively modest fee highlights a shift in their squad planning, while Kouamé’s own expectations reflect the financial allure and career opportunity the Saudi league presents for many African players.
Despite the speculation, Kouamé’s immediate focus is likely to remain on the conclusion of the Serie A season.
Empoli face AC Monza in a critical fixture as the relegation battle intensifies.
While off-pitch decisions loom, on-pitch performances in these final rounds could still shape the narrative of the Ivorian’s next career move.
With formal offers reportedly on the table and both player and club seemingly aligned in their openness to a transfer, Kouamé may soon become the latest high-profile African footballer to join the rapidly growing Saudi league.
