Ivorian forward, Simon Adingra, was on the scoresheet for Brighton & Hove Albion on Monday night, netting his second goal of the season in the English Premier League to help his side finish 2024 on a positive note.
The match, played at Villa Park, began with Adingra’s early strike in the 12th minute. He pounced on a loose ball inside the box, firing it past the goalkeeper and into the right post to give Brighton the lead.
Aston Villa responded in the 37th minute when Ollie Watkins converted an unstoppable penalty into the bottom left corner to level the score at 1-1.
Villa then took the lead in the second half with a goal from Morgan Rogers in the 47th minute, who capitalised on a superb lofted pass from Watkins, firing a brilliant shot into the bottom left corner to make it 2-1.
However, Brighton continued to battle and earned a well-deserved equaliser in the 82nd minute. Joao Pedro played a simple square pass to Tariq Lamptey, who composed himself before striking the ball into the bottom left corner to make it 2-2.
With his goal, Simon Adingra finishes 2024 with two goals and one assist from 14 appearances in the Premier League this season, showcasing his growing importance to Brighton’s attacking force.
