Ivorian forward Patrick Ouotro has completed a permanent transfer to AS Nancy Lorraine, bringing an end to his brief stint with French Ligue 1 side Strasbourg.
Once hailed as a rising star in Ivorian football, Ouotro had penned a contract with Strasbourg running until June 2028 following an impressive campaign with Lys Sassandra, where he was named the best young player of the 2023–2024 Ivorian Championship.
However, his time in Alsace failed to meet expectations, as he struggled to break into the senior team.
In a bid to gain more experience and playing time, Ouotro was loaned out to Belgian second-tier side RFC Seraing during the most recent campaign.
Despite flashes of promise in the Challenger Pro League, Strasbourg has opted to part ways with the 20-year-old forward.
AS Nancy Lorraine have now secured his services on a four-year deal.
The move is seen as a strategic one for both player and club, offering Ouotro the opportunity to relaunch his European career in a more stable and development-focused environment.
While no official statement has yet been released by Strasbourg, sources close to the negotiation confirmed that the transfer was finalized earlier this week.
Nancy is expected to formally unveil their new signing in the coming days.
Ouotro’s journey from Ivorian domestic football to the European stage has not been without its challenges.
His move to Strasbourg generated excitement in Ivory Coast, with fans and pundits optimistic about his potential.
However, the lack of regular minutes and a congested attacking roster limited his impact in France’s top flight.
At Nancy, currently competing in France’s Championnat National (third tier), Ouotro is expected to take on a more prominent role in the squad.

The transfer marks a new chapter for a player still viewed by many as one of Ivory Coast’s most promising attacking prospects.
Ouotro will now be focused on regaining form and consistency in Lorraine, where he hopes to prove that the early hype surrounding his career was well deserved.
