Ivorian forward N'Dri Koffi attracts French interest weeks after joining Hamrun Spartans

N’Dri Philippe Koffi’s move to Maltese club Hamrun Spartans FC is already under scrutiny, with the Ivorian forward reportedly drawing interest from multiple French clubs just weeks after his arrival.

According to French outlet Foot National, Koffi’s performances in Malta—though brief—have not gone unnoticed. Despite Hamrun Spartans being eliminated in the second qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League, the 23-year-old striker made a strong impression, prompting a flurry of attention from Ligue 2 and National (third tier) sides in France.

One Ligue 2 coach is said to have already given his approval for Koffi’s profile, underlining the growing interest around the Ivorian international hopeful.

In addition to the interest from France, several foreign clubs are also reportedly monitoring his situation, with some having already submitted offers to the Maltese side.

Koffi, whose current contract with Hamrun Spartans runs until June 2026, joined the club earlier this summer after parting ways with FC Sochaux in April.

His departure from the French side came through a mutual termination of his contract, leaving him without a team before Hamrun secured his services.

Now, as the summer transfer window continues to unfold, Koffi’s future appears uncertain once again. Though the Maltese outfit were pleased to land a player of his calibre and see him as a key attacking asset, the club may soon face decisions should formal approaches materialise from abroad.

Valued at €300,000 on Transfermarkt, Koffi’s stock appears to be rising, driven by his ability to make an impact quickly on the pitch.

While he hasn’t had much time to settle in Malta, his early showings have been enough to revive interest from French clubs looking to bolster their forward lines.

For Koffi, a return to France could represent an opportunity to rebuild momentum in a more competitive setting after a stop-start period in his career.

Having previously featured for Stade de Reims and Sochaux, the Ivorian is no stranger to the French football landscape. A return could therefore offer him the platform to re-establish himself and push for higher levels in the game.

Nonetheless, any transfer would require Hamrun Spartans’ approval, given the length of his current deal and their investment in bringing him on board. Whether the Maltese club will be willing to negotiate a quick exit remains to be seen.

With the transfer window still active and interest in the player reportedly growing, Koffi may find himself at the centre of further negotiations in the coming days.

His short but impactful spell in Malta may yet serve as a springboard to the next chapter of his career—one that could see him return to the familiar fields of French football.
