Ivorian forward Etienne Beugre opens up on Bordeaux nightmare before Kyzylzhar switch
Ivorian striker Etienne Beugre, who recently joined Kyzylzhar in Kazakhstan, has spoken candidly about the administrative hurdles and frustrations he faced while trying to return to his former club Bordeaux.
In a revealing interview, Beugre described a summer marked by uncertainty and bureaucratic complications. According to the striker, he was prevented from rejoining Bordeaux when the team resumed training in July, leaving him stranded in his home country for over two months. It wasn’t until September that he finally managed to return to the French side, but by then, the situation had deteriorated.
“I was prevented from returning to Bordeaux. Instead of coming back on 7 July, I finally left in September. I had to wait in my country for more than two months. The aim was to break the contract, stay in Abidjan, and find a club. But it was impossible,” Beugre explained.
The striker revealed that communication with the club was virtually nonexistent. Messages went unanswered, and he was left to fend for himself. Determined to prove his status as a Bordeaux player, Beugre meticulously compiled pay slips and other documents to build a formal case.
“Once they lost a match, and I posted a status update on Instagram, the media picked it up. Bordeaux doesn’t like pressure or details going public. That’s when they finally got back to me. But by that time, I had already progressed further in my visa process and the procedures to join another club,” he added.
The ordeal highlights the sometimes harsh realities professional footballers face off the pitch—navigating contracts, visas, and club politics can be as challenging as the game itself. Beugre’s decision to join Kyzylzhar appears to be a fresh start after a tumultuous period, giving him the opportunity to focus fully on his career without administrative distractions.
With the Ivorian striker now in Kazakhstan, fans of Kyzylzhar will hope his new chapter proves far smoother than the frustrating saga he endured in France.
