Ivorian defender Evan Ndicka offered to Real Madrid as Roma seek summer transfer deal

Ivorian defender Evan Ndicka offered to Real Madrid as Roma seek summer transfer deal

Roma have formally offered Ivorian defender Evan Ndicka to Real Madrid, with the Italian club seeking to capitalise on the player’s rising profile following a standout campaign in Serie A.

Multiple reports from Italy and Spain, including La Gazzetta dello Sport and Defensa Central, suggest the 25-year-old centre-back has been presented as a potential transfer option to the Spanish giants.

The proposal was reportedly initiated by Roma themselves, as the club considers a reshuffling of its defensive options during the summer window.

Ndicka, who joined Roma from Eintracht Frankfurt, has been on Real Madrid’s radar since his Bundesliga days. The interest, originally sparked under the watch of Real’s head scout Juni Calafat, has persisted despite the player’s move to Italy.

According to sources close to the negotiation, Madrid’s admiration for Ndicka remains intact, especially given the club’s urgent need for defensive reinforcements after a series of injury setbacks last season.

Xabi Alonso, poised to take over as manager, is said to be particularly keen on strengthening the backline, with Ndicka viewed as a player whose physicality, composure and aerial dominance could add valuable depth to Madrid’s defensive ranks.

However, a significant obstacle remains. Roma’s valuation of the Ivorian, believed to be around 26 billion CFA francs or approximately €40 million, has reportedly cooled Madrid’s interest.

While the Spanish champions recognise Ndicka’s potential and pedigree, they are hesitant to meet what they consider an inflated fee, especially in a market where other options may offer more value.

For Ndicka, the offer to Real Madrid marks a notable point in his career trajectory. After emerging as a consistent performer in Germany, his transition to Serie A has been smooth, with commanding performances that have drawn attention from top European clubs.

His strong positioning, ability to play out from the back and international experience with Côte d’Ivoire make him a desirable asset, but not one Madrid appear willing to break the bank for.

At Roma, the club may be looking to use the interest in Ndicka as a strategic move to raise funds or adjust their wage structure ahead of next season.

While no formal negotiations have been reported between the two clubs, the offer itself signals Roma’s willingness to engage in talks should Madrid reconsider their position or should another club enter the race.

For now, Real Madrid appear cautious. With the transfer window still open and several targets under consideration, club officials are reportedly weighing their options before making any firm commitments.

Ndicka remains a name on the list, but unless Roma lower their demands or Madrid reassess their valuation, the proposed move may stall.

As it stands, the ball is in Madrid’s court, but unless the price comes down or circumstances change, Evan Ndicka’s next destination may lie elsewhere.
