Real Betis have secured the signing of promising Ivorian central defender Emmanuel Jean N’Goran on a four-and-a-half-year contract, keeping him at the club until 2027.
The 18-year-old, who impressed during a trial period, will initially integrate into the club’s youth setup before aiming for promotion to the reserve team and, eventually, the senior squad.
His arrival was confirmed by Spanish journalist Alejandro Fernández and Ivorian media outlet L’Intello du Foot Ivoirien.
N’Goran has been honing his skills with Ghanaian side Young African Promises.
He gained recognition in 2022 during the regional qualifiers for the U-17 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), representing Côte d’Ivoire.
Despite a strong campaign, the Ivorians fell short of qualification, losing to Nigeria in the semi-finals and suffering a narrow defeat to hosts Ghana in the third-place match.
At Betis, N’Goran will join a squad that includes African internationals Cédric Bakambu (Democratic Republic of Congo), Ez Abde (Morocco), and Youssouf Sabaly (Senegal).
His progression within the club will depend on his performances at the youth level, with the potential to earn a place in the first-team squad in the future.
