Ittihad Alexandria struggles continue as Wadi Degla and El Gouna clinch wins

Wadi Degla broke their winless spell by defeating Al Ittihad Alexandria 2-1 in the Egyptian Premier League.

Mohamed Dyasaty opened the scoring for Degla after 27 minutes, with Islam Samir equalizing for Al Ittihad at the 66th minute. However, Ziad Osama Zizo sealed the victory for Degla in the 83rd minute. Manager Mohamed El Sheikh’s side now sits fourth with 19 points, earning them the “dark horse” title of the season. Al Ittihad remains 19th, with only eight points after seven defeats in 11 matches, including managerial changes with Tamer Mostafa now at the helm.

In another match, El Gouna triumphed 1-0 over Smouha thanks to Mohamed El Nahas’s 80th-minute strike. Smouha missed a crucial penalty in the 89th minute and saw Samuel Amadi sent off late in the game. El Gouna, led by Ahmed Mostafa Bibo, moved up to twelfth place, matching Smouha’s 15 points.

The round closes with Ahly vs Petrojete and Zamalek vs Bank Ahly, while Ceramica Cleopatra leads the table with 23 points, closely followed by Ahly and Al Masry.
