Ghanaian midfielder Sulley Muntari returned to training with AC Milan on Wednesday. This marks his first appearance on the field since undergoing surgery for a cruciate knee ligament injury in June. While Muntari participated in ball work during training, he did not engage in the teammates’ opposition session. His return to fitness is viewed positively, especially for the Ghanaian national team, as coach Kwesi Appiah has expressed his intention to recall both Muntari and Michael Essien to strengthen the squad for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (CAN) in 2013. Appiah emphasized the importance of having experienced players like Muntari and Essien in the squad.
