Italian Serie A outfit Atalanta have turned down Napoli’s first offer for Nigeria international forward Ademola Lookman.

The 27-year-old, who is set for a permanent departure this summer has attracted significant interest in Europe, with Napoli expressing keen in the attacker.

Lookman is expected to follow manager Gian Piero Gasperini out of the Bergamo club after a series of clashes with the head coach at the end of last season.

According to reports, Napoli presented an initial offer of a €50 million, which was rejected by Atalanta, as the Bergamo club demand for more for one of their priced asset.

Atalanta wants a fee around €60 million mark before negotiation for a possible transfer this summer begin.

For the record, the 27-year-old Lookman played 40 club matches during the 2024/25 season, scoring 20 goals and providing 7 assists.

Meanwhile, Lookman’s current contract with Atalanta runs until summer of 2027. He joined the club in August 2022 and has since established himself as a key member of the team, playing an instrumental role in the club’s UEFA Europa League success in the 2023/24 season.
