AC Milan have submitted a second offer to Strasbourg in an attempt to secure the signature of Ivory Coast international Guela Doué this summer.
The Italian giants are seeking to add the enterprising defender to their ranks for the upcoming 2025/26 football campaign as they aim for a meaningful impact.
The seven-time Champions League struggled last term, finishing 8th in Serie A last term and missing out on European football. The club is determined to make impact next season and are poised to augment their squad, with Doue, who plies his trade for Strasbourg emerging as a priority target.
The 22-year-old defender, who is the older brother of Paris Saint Germain star Désiré Doué has been in the sights of the Serie A side this summer, who are looking to replace Kyle Walker, who has exited the club after a short spell.
AC Milan previously sent a €15m offer to the Ligue 1 side for the right-back, with the player being highly valued by the new head coach, Massimiliano Allegri. However, the bid for the defender with a contract lasting until 2029 was rejected.
In a bid secure the defender, AC Milan has submitted a second offer of €18m to the French Ligue 1 club. However, the Italian giants offer falls short of the Ligue 1 club’s valuation for the former Rennes defender.
The second offer is set to be rejected, with BlueCo hoping to receive more for the 22-year-old.
Doué is viewed as an important player by Liam Rosenior. The former Hull City head coach hopes to be able to depend on the Côte d’Ivoire international at the end of August when Strasbourg hope to confirm their place in the UEFA Europa Conference League in the qualifying stages.
