AC Milan are expected to submit a second offer for the acquisition of Ivory Coast international Guela Doué in the ongoing summer transfer window.
The Italian giants are seeking to add the enterprising attacker to their ranks for the upcoming 2025/26 football campaign as they aim for a meaningful impact.
The seven-time Champions League struggled last term, finishing the campaign 8th in Serie A and missing out on European football. The club is determined to make impact next season and poised to augment their squad, with Doue, who plies his trade for Strasbourg emerging as a priority target.
The 22-year-old defender, who is the older brother of Paris Saint Germain star Désiré Doué has been in the sights of the Serie A side this summer, who are looking to replace Kyle Walker, who has exited the club after a short spell.
AC Milan previously sent a €15m offer to the Ligue 1 side for the right-back, with the player being highly valued by the new head coach, Massimiliano Allegri. However, this bid for a player with a contract lasting until 2029 was rejected.
The Italian giants will look to return with an improved offer in the coming days. However, AC Milan cautions that Chelsea FC’s close relationship with Strasbourg could prove to be an obstacle.
Chelsea and Strasbourg are sister clubs sharing the same owners, and the London side reportedly have an interest in Doué, and therefore would logically be heavy favourites to win the race.
