Pyramids FC coach, Krunoslav Jurčić, says he expects a tough game against AS FAR but adds that they are motivated to win.
The Egyptian side will be hosted at the Stade d’Honneur in the second leg of the CAF Champions League later today with kick-off scheduled at 19:00 GMT.
“The second leg will be different, especially as the opponent will rely on the crowd pressure expected to fill the Stade d’Honneur in Meknes,” the Croatian coach said.
“They will certainly try to apply pressure from the first moment to score, so we must take this into account and play with extreme caution, avoid conceding goals, and focus hard to secure passage to the semi-finals.
Regarding the difficulty of playing in front of a large crowd in Meknes, Jurčić explained that his team is accustomed to the atmosphere of the fans, having faced Al Ahly and Zamalek in the league, as well as playing strong matches in front of large crowds in the Champions League.
He explained that this motivates his players to excel and qualify for the semi-finals.
“Pyramids will not play defensively from the first moment to secure victory. We have our style and we will work to maintain it and give our best possible performance. The players are motivated to repeat the victory in Meknes and qualify.”
Pyramids FC won the first leg 4-1 at the 30 June Stadium in Cairo last week.
