Issa Diop: Fulham defender linked with Serie A move to Como 1907

Fulham centre-back Issa Diop is being linked with a move to Serie A side Como 1907 as the newly promoted Italian club explore options to strengthen their defence.

Diop, 29, is currently valued at 8m and has seen his market value fall steadily over the past two years at Fulham, where he wears the No 31 shirt and plays primarily as a right-footed central defender.

Born in Toulouse and holding both Moroccan and French nationality, the 1.94m defender has extensive top-flight experience in England and France, having featured for Fulham and West Ham United in the Premier League after coming through the ranks at Toulouse.

Diop first moved to England in 2018 when he left Toulouse for West Ham, establishing himself in the Premier League before switching to Fulham in August 2022 in search of more regular football.

His value peaked at 35m during his time at West Ham and later reached 22m again with Fulham in late 2023, but has since decreased, potentially making him a more attainable target for clubs such as Como looking for a proven defender.

Diop has spent his entire senior career in Europes top leagues and has been developed through Toulouses academy structure from youth level, offering Como a profile that combines physical presence with long-standing experience at a high level.

No agreement has been reached between Fulham and Como, and the rumour remains at an early stage, with Diop still on the books at the Premier League club.
