Ismaily SC faces fresh turmoil as General Assembly rejects budget
Ismaily SC is facing another wave of uncertainty after the club’s general assembly voted against approving the current year’s budget during its regular meeting at the club headquarters on Saturday.
Out of 5,114 eligible members, 1,085 were present, and the majority turned down the budget. The rejection means the Board of Directors, led by Nasr Abu Al-Hassan, must now begin procedures to call an extraordinary general assembly. This will allow the club to reconsider the matter in line with ministerial regulations and executive decisions.
In response, the Board released an official statement expressing gratitude to members for their presence and commitment, describing the turnout as an honorable display that reflects Ismaily’s proud history.
“The Council announced that it will continue to exercise its powers and work to support and stabilize the club’s entity and activities to achieve the hopes and aspirations of the fans,” the statement read.
Earlier this month, the Ismaili Council also faced a vote of no confidence, though that assembly was not completed. The latest budget rejection now adds to the turbulence surrounding the storied Egyptian club.
