Ismaila Sarr wants Liverpool move as Crystal Palace seek £75m before deadline

Liverpool remain determined to sign Ismaila Sarr, but Crystal Palace are demanding at least £75m (£87.57m) for the Senegal international as the transfer window approaches its closing date.

According to Santi Aouna, Liverpool’s interest in the forward is still active. However, negotiations have become increasingly difficult because of Palace’s financial demands and the limited time remaining to complete a deal.

Crystal Palace are reportedly unhappy at the prospect of losing Sarr on the final day of the transfer window. The London club are therefore understood to be slowing the discussions in an attempt to increase the pressure on Liverpool and secure the strongest possible financial terms.

Sarr is said to have made it clear that he wants to move to Liverpool. The 27-year-old allegedly missed a training session in an effort to push Palace’s hierarchy towards accepting his departure and has reportedly told the club that he no longer wants to wear the Eagles shirt.

That leaves Crystal Palace facing a difficult decision. They can continue to insist on their valuation and risk keeping an unhappy player, or reach an agreement with Liverpool that would allow Sarr to leave before the deadline.

Liverpool, meanwhile, are continuing to work towards completing the transfer. The Reds would need to decide whether Palace’s asking price is acceptable or whether they can negotiate a lower fee for a player whose estimated market value is considerably below the amount being demanded.

Sarr remains under contract with Crystal Palace until 30 June 2029. His market value is estimated at €45m, while his reported annual salary is €4,348,684, equivalent to 2,826,644,600 West African CFA francs.

The forward joined Crystal Palace after developing a career as an attacking player capable of operating from wide positions or through the centre. His pace and experience at international level have made him an attractive option for Liverpool, who are seeking to strengthen their attacking options.

The timing of the negotiations is also significant for Palace, who are due to play Fulham in their third Premier League match of the season shortly. The uncertainty over Sarr’s future comes as the club prepares for that fixture, with the transfer deadline adding further pressure to the situation.

Betting company 1xBet lists Crystal Palace at odds of 3.00 to win the match, with a draw priced at 3.30 and Fulham at 2.20.
