ISCA claimed a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Lys Sassandra on Saturday in the 21st round of the Ivorian Ligue 1, boosting their position in the league standings.
Meanwhile, CO Korhogo and Bouaké FC shared the points in a goalless draw that left both teams frustrated.
ISCA edges past Lys Sassandra in tight contest
After suffering a disappointing 2-0 defeat at home to Bouaké FC last weekend, ISCA needed a strong response to avoid slipping further down the table.
Against a struggling Lys Sassandra side, they seized their opportunity, breaking the deadlock late in the game.
With the match heading towards a goalless stalemate, Abdoul Razack emerged as the hero for ISCA, scoring the decisive goal in the 87th minute.
His late strike secured a crucial away win, moving ISCA up to eighth place with 28 points.
For Lys Sassandra, this result deepens their woes. The club has now gone ten matches without a win, managing only two draws while suffering eight defeats.
Their alarming form leaves them precariously positioned in 14th place, just above the relegation zone, with 20 points.
CO Korhogo and Bouaké FC struggle to find breakthrough
In the day’s other fixture, CO Korhogo and Bouaké FC failed to produce any goals in a 0-0 draw.
Both teams were eager to claim maximum points but lacked the cutting edge to break the deadlock.
The result does little to help either side’s position in the league standings.
CO Korhogo remains 12th with 22 points, while Bouaké FC sits just above them in 11th place with 24 points.
