Nottingham Forest defender Andrew Omobamidele, currently on loan at French club Strasbourg, has stated that he is concentrating on his performance in Ligue 1 and has not yet contemplated his future beyond the current season.
The 22-year-old Irish international of Nigerian descent, who joined Nottingham Forest from Norwich City in September 2023, found limited opportunities at the Premier League club, making only 11 appearances during the 2023-2024 season.
Seeking more playing time, Omobamidele moved to Strasbourg on loan in January 2025.
Since his arrival in France, Omobamidele has featured in four matches for Strasbourg, aiming to regain form and match fitness.
Despite the loan nearing its end, he remains focused on his current responsibilities and is not yet considering his next career move.
Omobamidele acknowledged that while Nottingham Forest has performed well this season, opportunities for him were scarce.
“I haven’t looked beyond this summer, even though it’s getting close,” Omobamidele told BeIN SPORTS. “My main goal now is to do the best I can here, and we’ll see what happens in the summer when we have to face the situation.
“I think it’s something I knew for a while (leaving).
“The team (Forest) is performing amazingly this season and sometimes football is like that. Sometimes the opportunities don’t come. I knew that for me, the path and adventure I’m on, the most important thing is to play and perform well.”
As the season draws to a close, Omobamidele’s future remains uncertain.
Reports have linked him with potential moves, including interest from Leeds United and Sheffield United, with valuations around £10 million.
