Inter Milan are reportedly monitoring Chelsea youngster Josh Acheampong as they explore potential defensive reinforcements ahead of the summer transfer window.
According to The Sun, the Serie A giants recently dispatched a scout to assess the English-Ghanaian’s performance during an Under-19 match against Wales.
The 18-year-old defender, capable of playing both as a centre-back and right-back, has been making steady progress at Chelsea.
He has already featured eight times for the senior team across all competitions this season, showcasing his potential at the highest level.
Last year, the youngster found himself in a contract standoff with Chelsea, which led to a temporary exclusion from the squad.
However, both parties reached an agreement, and in December 2023, Acheampong committed his future to the club by signing a contract extension until 2029.
Despite this long-term deal, interest in him remains high, with European clubs closely tracking his development.
Chelsea have assembled one of the most promising groups of young talents in world football, which has attracted attention from top clubs across Europe.
Acheampong’s rising profile was further cemented when he was included in NXGN’s list of the 50 best young footballers globally, ranking 38th.
Another Chelsea prospect, Brazilian forward Estevao Willian, currently with Palmeiras, is ranked second and is set to join the club this summer.
