Inter Milan is reportedly setting its sights on FC Barcelona’s young Senegalese defender Mikayil Ngor Faye as they continue to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season. The Nerazzurri, who have already made significant moves in the transfer market, are now focusing on bolstering their defensive lineup, with Faye emerging as a key target.

In recent weeks, Inter Milan has been active in the transfer market, securing several high-profile signings, including Piotr Zieliński, Carlos Augusto, Josep Martinez, and Davide Frattesi.

Despite these acquisitions, the club remains on the hunt for a top-tier defender to solidify their backline. According to reports from Sky Sport Italia, Faye, a promising 20-year-old talent from FC Barcelona, has caught the attention of Inter’s scouting team.

Mikayil Faye, who spent last season with Barcelona’s reserve team, has become a sought-after player this summer.

The former Diambars FC defender signed with Barcelona until 2027, but with limited first-team opportunities under coach Hansi Flick, a move away from the Catalan giants appears increasingly likely.

During the pre-season, Faye was called up to the senior squad, making appearances against Real Madrid and AC Milan.

However, the fierce competition within Barcelona’s defense has left the young Senegalese star considering his future.

Inter Milan’s interest in Faye is not isolated; several other clubs across Europe have also shown keen interest in the defender.

Among them are French Ligue 1 sides Monaco, Rennes, and Nice, who are all looking to bolster their defensive options.

Despite a reported €10 million offer from Rennes, Barcelona’s management, led by Joan Laporta, has yet to be convinced, leaving the player’s future in limbo.

Faye’s potential departure from Barcelona could be a significant move for both the player and the club that secures his services.

His versatility and defensive prowess have made him an attractive prospect for teams looking to invest in young talent with a high ceiling.

For Inter Milan, bringing in a player like Faye could provide long-term stability to their defense, as they aim to defend their Serie A title and make a deep run in European competitions.

As the transfer window nears its closure, the situation surrounding Mikayil Faye is one to watch closely.

Whether Inter Milan will succeed in their pursuit or if another club will swoop in remains to be seen.

However, one thing is clear: Faye’s next move could play a pivotal role in shaping his career trajectory and the fortunes of the club that lands his signature.
