Inter Milan consider move to sign French-Guinean defender Dayot Upamecano
French defender of Guinean descent, Dayot Upamecano, is reportedly on the radar of Italian giants Inter Milan.
According to several reports by sources, Inter Milan sees Upamecano as the ideal replacement for Francesco Acerbi and wants to do everything to secure his services next summer when he becomes a free agent.
The towering defender currently on the books of Bayern Munich is entering the final year of his five-year contract and will be free to hold talks with other clubs in January 2026.
Reports suggest Inter already have close ties with the player’s management, though no formal talks have yet been confirmed.
Upamecano remains a key figure at Bayern under coach Vincent Kompany, forming a strong defensive partnership with new signing Jonathan Tah. Sporting director Max Eberl has also emphasised the club’s desire to keep him, making his potential exit a major concern.
Real Madrid are also keeping a close eye on the defender’s situation, with both clubs ready to pounce should he decide against renewing his Bayern deal.
Losing him on a free transfer would represent a significant sporting and financial blow for the Bundesliga champions.
