Inter Miami coach Javier Mascherano has admitted his outfit FIFA Club World Cup opener against African giants Al Ahly will be challenging.
The Major League Soccer side will take on the Egyptian powerhouse on June 15 in a highly competitive clash Group A clash.
Speaking ahead of the clash, Mascherano affirmed the clash against Al Ahly will not be easy despite playing on home soil, as Al Ahly is used to performing in front of massive crowds
“Honestly, we expect a lot of Egyptian fans to attend the match, as teams like this always attract their supporters who travel to back them. That’s why I believe the game will be extremely challenging, even though we’re playing at home, because a club of Al Ahly’s caliber is accustomed to playing in front of top coaches and huge crowds,” commented the Inter Miami head coach.
The opening match between Al Ahly and Inter Miami will kick off at 2:00 AM Central European Time.
In an attempt to make a meaningful impact at the Club World Cup, Al Ahly will have to outsmart Inter Miami, Porto and Palmeiras to progress to the knockout stage.
