Injury crisis hit Kaizer Chiefs ahead of Siwelele FC clash
South African outfit Kaizer Chiefs are sweating over injuries of several key players ahead of their Premier League game against Siwelele FC.
The Soweto giants will have to battle for points without six players influential players due to an injury setback. Kaizer Chiefs takes on Siwelele FC in a midweek fixture at FNB Stadium on Wednesday.
Ahead of the clash, Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed the unavailability of six key players, coming a huge blow for the club. The absence of the players is expected to affect the Soweto giants, who are keen on making a meaningful impact this season.
“The medical team are currently managing a growing injury list, with George Matlou, Ethan Chislett, Paseka Mako, Bontle Molefe, Given Msimango, and Rushwin Dortley all sidelined,” the club said.
“Msimango and Dortley, in particular, have been out for extended periods, posing selection challenges for the technical team,” a statement from the club reads.
Kaizer Chiefs currently sit fourth on the Premier League standings, accumulating 15 points after eight matches, while Siwelele FC sit 14th spot with seven points after nine matches into the campaign.
