Udinese’s Nigerian goalkeeper, Maduka Okoye, is set to undergo wrist surgery following an injury sustained during a Serie A match against Genoa.
The goalkeeper will be hoping for a quick recovery after the surgery.
Meanwhile, his club Udinese confirmed on Monday that the procedure will take place in the coming days.
The shot-stopper, who has been pivotal for the Zebras, is expected to be sidelined for several weeks as he recovers. He has already been ruled out of Udinese’s Serie A clash with Monza.
Maduka Okoye’s injury comes after a standout performance in the latter half of last season, where he cemented his place as Udinese’s first-choice goalkeeper.
So far this season, he has made 14 league appearances under head coach Kosta Runjaic.
While Udinese will undoubtedly feel the absence of their key goalkeeper, the club is hopeful for his swift recovery and return to action as they navigate the challenges of the Serie A campaign.
