Swedish striker of Eritrean descent, Alexander Isak, has reportedly rejected a contract extension deal at Newcastle United.
The forward is having a season to remember in the ongoing 2024/25 football season.
As a result, several top clubs in Europe are looking at the possibility of securing his services in the summer transfer window.
Liverpool are said to be eyeing a summer move for the prolific forward, with Newcastle valuing him at €150 million. However, his potential departure may hinge on whether the Magpies secure Champions League qualification.
Amid the interest, Newcastle United have also tried to tie the striker down to a new contract.
Unfortunately, sources are reporting that Alexander Isak has rejected the offer presented by the club.
This season, the striker has scored 23 goals and provided five assists after making 33 appearances in all competitions.
Isak’s current contract with Newcastle United will run out in June 2028.
It is now up to the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal to match the demands of Newcastle United if they want sign Alexander Isak.
