Sweden international of Eritrean descent Alexander Isak wants to force a move from Newcastle United for Barcelona in the summer.
The 25-year-old has been tipped to depart the Premier League club at the end of the season, provided Newcastle United fail to snatch a Champions League spot.
However, reports emanating suggests the enterprising forward is desperate to sign for Barcelona.
Newcastle are set to demand a transfer fee of at least €180 million to sanction a move for the Sweden international, which could prove problematic for cash-strapped Barcelona, but Isak is eager to join Hansi Flick’s side.
It is said Isak has already rejected offers from both Arsenal and Manchester United as he prioritizes a move to Barcelona.
Meanwhile, Barcelona president Joan Laporta is reportedly willing to do everything possible to sign Isak, although Newcastle have no intention of reducing their asking price for the 25-year-old.
Isak has emerged as Barcelona’s long-term replacement for ageing Robert Lewandowski and his desire to secure a Camp Nou has been identified as a “key factor in the operation.
The forward has scored 22 goals and provided five assists in 31 matches across all competitions so far this season.
