Former Liverpool striker Roberto Firmino has spoken warmly about Mohamed Salah’s ongoing success at the club, underlining the close relationship the two built during their years together at Anfield.
Firmino, who now plays for Al-Ahli in the Saudi Pro League, shared his thoughts in a recent interview, acknowledging both the achievements of his former teammate and the strong bond they formed.
“I’m happy for Liverpool and for what Mohamed Salah achieved. I miss Mo. I think we share a great friendship – we made beautiful history together.
“If he’s watching me now, I’m really proud of him and our friendship,” the Brazilian said.
The pair were central figures in one of Liverpool’s most successful eras under manager Jürgen Klopp.
Firmino spent eight seasons at the club, making 362 appearances and contributing 111 goals along with 76 assists.
Alongside Salah and Sadio Mané, Firmino formed part of the iconic front three that played a crucial role in Liverpool’s UEFA Champions League triumph in 2019 and their Premier League title win in 2020.
Salah has remained a key figure for Liverpool in Firmino’s absence, continuing to deliver high-level performances as the team transitions into the new era under manager Arne Slot.
The Egyptian forward’s consistency and professionalism have earned admiration across the footballing world.
