Ola Aina says he is “over the moon” after signing a contract extension with Nottingham Forest that keeps him at the City Ground until 2028.
The Nigeria international, who joined the club last summer, expressed his delight at committing his future to a side he already considers home.
“I’m over the moon, I can’t wait to continue this journey with the Club,” Aina said following the announcement.
“It’s always felt like a home ever since I joined and I’m happy to be here. Now my focus is on preparing for the new season well and getting back to hard work.”
The 28-year-old arrived on a free transfer from Torino in July 2023 and has since established himself as a vital part of Nuno Espirito Santo’s side.
Aina featured in 35 of Forest’s 38 Premier League matches last season and posted standout defensive statistics—most notably, recovering possession in the defensive third more than any other player across Europe’s top five leagues.
Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis lauded Aina’s contribution, calling him a model professional who embodies the club’s spirit.
“Ola has skill, determination and character in abundance. He has had a big influence since his arrival here and we look forward to continuing that journey together.”
Chief Football Officer Ross Wilson added: “Everyone can see how much he gives the team on the pitch, and we also see every day what he brings off the pitch to our group. Ola shares our ambition and believes in the direction of the Club.”
The contract extension not only secures one of Forest’s most consistent performers but also sends a strong message of intent as the club prepares for the 2025/26 season.
