Victor Boniface has moved to quash speculation about a potential departure from Bayer Leverkusen, insisting he is fully committed to the club and not entertaining any transfer talks this summer.
The Nigerian international has been linked with a move away following a modest 2024/25 season in which he scored 11 goals and provided one assist in 27 appearances across all competitions.
Despite the subdued return, the 24-year-old forward remains an integral part of Leverkusen’s plans and has drawn reported interest from Italian giants AC Milan and Juventus.
Recent media reports suggested the striker could be on the radar of clubs seeking to bolster their attacking options ahead of the new campaign.
However, Boniface has dismissed any suggestion of an imminent exit, reinforcing his desire to stay at the BayArena and deliver on the club’s ambitions.
“I’m absolutely certain that my future is here. From my point of view, it’s 100% clear that I’m staying. I still have three years left on my contract, I want to win titles with Bayer, and have a great season,” he told German outlet BILD.
Boniface joined Bayer Leverkusen in 2023 and made an immediate impact during his debut season, helping the club secure their first-ever Bundesliga title. Though his second campaign was less prolific, the forward’s commitment to the project under head coach Xabi Alonso appears unchanged.
Leverkusen are preparing for a demanding season, which includes a return to the UEFA Champions League, and Boniface’s experience and physical presence up front will be vital for the club’s continental and domestic ambitions.
With three years remaining on his contract, the former Union Saint-Gilloise striker is focused on regaining top form and contributing to another successful season in Germany.
