Marseille’s forward, Iliman Ndiaye, is poised to make a return to the pitch this Sunday against Clermont after a reduction in his suspension following a red card against Rennes.

Initially facing a three-match ban imposed by the LFP disciplinary committee, Ndiaye’s availability for the upcoming match reflects a favorable outcome in the appeals process.

According to reports from Foot Mercato, the National Olympic and Sports Committee of France (CNOSF) entertained Marseille’s arguments, leading to a proposed conciliation with the LFP.

The disciplinary measure has now been revised to encompass two firm matches and one suspended, effectively modifying Ndiaye’s suspension from three firm matches to two firm matches plus a suspended one.

Having served his suspension during fixtures against Lyon and Lorient, the 23-year-old Senegalese striker is now expected to be at the disposal of Marseille’s manager, Gennaro Gattuso, for the clash against Clermont at the Orange Vélodrome. This development positions Ndiaye to contribute to Marseille’s pursuit of a fourth consecutive victory in Ligue 1.

Ndiaye’s red card incident occurred during Marseille’s triumph over Rennes with a high challenge on Rennes defender Jeanuël Belocian, resulting in his sending off

. The revised suspension not only benefits the player individually but also bolsters Marseille’s offensive options as they seek to maintain their positive form in the league.
