Brentford manager Thomas Frank has acknowledged that star forward Bryan Mbeumo could leave the club this summer, amid growing interest from top Premier League sides.
The Cameroon international has enjoyed an outstanding campaign for the Bees, registering 18 goals and six assists across 33 appearances.
His consistent attacking contributions have reportedly attracted interest from high-profile clubs such as Newcastle United and Liverpool ahead of the transfer window.
Though Mbeumo remains a key figure at Brentford, Frank has admitted that the club may be open to letting him go for the right price.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Frank highlighted the reality of Brentford’s model, noting that the club operates with the understanding that its top talents may eventually move on.
“I know Bryan is very happy at Brentford,” Frank said. “He’s thriving, doing well and playing fantastic. What happens in the future, I don’t know.”
He added: “I’ve said many times, we are a selling club. But that’s also to reinforce that there are maybe 10 clubs in the world that are not selling clubs.”
Frank also pointed out that any transfer involving Mbeumo would require a significant fee.
“Of course, if the right price – and that’s going to be expensive – is coming, then I’m pretty sure that the club will be open for it.”
Reflecting on Brentford’s history of replacing top strikers, Frank expressed confidence in the club’s ability to rebuild.
“I lost Neal Maupay, Ollie Watkins and Ivan Toney… Every season we replace the goals with other players, so I am confident that we can do it again.”
The 24-year-old Mbeumo, who joined Brentford in 2019, has been instrumental in the club’s rise and continued competitiveness in the Premier League.
