Togolese midfielder Farid Zato and his club Vikingur secured their fifth consecutive victory in the Icelandic elite division championship with a 1-0 win over Fjölnir. The only goal of the match was scored by Guðmundur Stein Hafsteinsson.
Having transferred from HK Kopavogur in the second division to Vikingur in the first division, Farid Zato has been a key player for his new club, participating in all matches this season.
Expressing his satisfaction with his new club, Zato stated, “I feel good in my new club. I play every match, and that’s the main thing.”
While initially summoned to face Cameroon as part of the 3rd day of the World Cup qualifiers for Brazil 2014 by coach Didier Six, Zato’s name was later removed from the list following modifications made by the Togolese Football Federation.
