Ibrahima Cissé is being linked with a move from FC Schalke 04 to Belgian side Cercle Brugge, according to transfer listings collated on 30 November 2025.

The 24-year-old centre-back, valued at around €350,000, has emerged as a possible defensive option for the Jupiler Pro League club, with the mooted switch framed as a transfer rumour rather than an advanced negotiation. Data from Transfermarkt places a question mark over the probability of the move, underlining that talks, if any, are at an early or unconfirmed stage.

Cissé’s contractual situation at Schalke is unclear in the records, with no formal expiry date listed, which has led to speculation that he could become available on relatively favourable terms or even move towards free-agent status in the near future. That uncertainty is thought to have alerted suitors such as Cercle Brugge, who operate in a league he already knows from his time in Belgium.

Born in Dreux on 15 February 2001, the 1.96m defender holds both Malian and French nationality and is predominantly right-footed. He joined Schalke in 2022 from Jong KAA Gent, having previously played for LB Châteauroux B in France, giving him experience in both French and Belgian systems before his switch to Germany’s 2. Bundesliga.

Cissé’s market value has fluctuated in recent seasons, rising from €200,000 at the start of his Schalke spell to €500,000 in late 2024 before settling back at €350,000 by June 2025. That profile, combining modest cost with room for growth, makes him a potentially low-risk addition for Cercle Brugge.

If the transfer materialises, a return to Belgian football could offer Cissé a platform to stabilise his value, secure regular minutes and push his career towards a higher competitive ceiling in the Jupiler Pro League.
