Algeria international Amine Gouiri has eulogized legendary Didier Drogba, saying he would have loved to play with the former Ivory Coast star.
Gouiri, who plies his trade for French giants Olympique Marseille in an interview revealed admiration for the former Chelsea star, who is considered as one of the best ever strikers in the history of Africa.
Drogba gained prominence during his spell with Marseille in 2003. However, after just one season in France, the 47-year-old departed to join Chelsea under Jose Mourinho.
And according to Gouiri, one legend he would have loved to play with at Marseille is Drogba.
“If I had to pick a legend from OM to play with, since I’m a striker, I would have really liked to play with Didier Drogba. That would have been pretty great, I think.” He said.
Amine Gouiri joined Marseille from Stade Rennais in January and established himself as a key member of the team. With his outstanding performances and memorable moments, the Algerian international established himself as one of the most dangerous forwards in Europe’s top five leagues.
His efforts were crucial in Marseille’s Champions League qualification, scoring 13 goals and providing 5 assists in 33 appearances.
